The Matter of Love

This is in response to the poor bloke who caught his wife cheating and decided to blog about his ordeal. It went viral on Reddit. The original post has since been removed but you can find blurbs of the soapie on Huffington Post.

A Tough One

This is a tough one! I have sympathy for the guy.

It is painful to find out that the person you love and trust has been lying to you (it also violates the first stages of Yoga). Having said that, she clearly has a sexual desire that needs to be fulfilled by more than what her husband is able to offer her right now.

Is This Really Grounds for Divorce?

Is this really grounds for divorce? I mean, come on! If you’ve been in a long term relationship surely you can relate to fantasising about other lovers or having the desire to explore outside of the marriage/relationship?

Natural, Healthy, and Often Hidden

Come now … I know you have, because most people do! It is perfectly natural and healthy to have these desires. Some people like to keep these desires internalised and use it as a turn on switch, others need to physically express it with partners outside of the relationship.

Communication Is Key

Communication in all relationships is key! It is quite obvious that there was a breakdown in trust and communication from both sides in this relationship. You should be able to express your desires, wants and needs to your partner. If you truly love each other, unconditionally and fully, then you will have no problem stepping outside of your comfort zones to allow your partner to grow, learn and experience what it is that they think or feel they need at that stage in their life. Even if it is different from your own. You allow them to have their own experiences, whether you think it is right or wrong so that they can learn from it and grow.

Standing Together, Yet Not Too Near

After all, as Gibran says:

“Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.

For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.

And stand together yet not too near together:

For the pillars of the temple stand apart,

And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.”

What True Love Knows

True love knows no fear. True love knows no lacking or losing. True love sets you free, and whether they return or not … True love keeps on loving eternally.

Pleasure Over Truth, Comfort Over Love

“If most people could choose pleasure over truth, they would choose pleasure. If most people could choose comfort over love, they would choose comfort. Because love, perfect and true love can be very uncomfortable.” – Muktananda

Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way

I hope that this couple will find a way to mend their marriage. Where there is a will, there is a way … and love always finds the way.

Stay Blessed and Stay in Love.
